Amanda's Memorial Day Steamed Crab Recipe -
In a large lidded pot bring 2 inches of water to a boil.  Add 1/4 cup sea salt,  2 dried hot pepppers, any herbs or vegetables on hand in the refrigerator such as half and onion,  2 bulbs of course cut garlic, some celery, a carrot, bell pepper or bunch of radishes.

I clean out the drawers of my refrigerator with this one; I never use my freshest new vegetables. Add 2 Tbs of every spice that you enjoy such as corriander, cumin, dry mustard, paprika, or peppercorns.  Place frozen crab clusters over the vegetables, herbs and spices then cover and let water return to a boil.  This will take 15 minutes or so.

Once the seasoned water with the crab starts boiling, allow it to cook covered for an additional 10-15 minutes.  If you are cooking inside you will smell the aroma when this crab is ready to serve - it will be fragrant and salty.  Using tongs, move the crab around in the broth to coat it with flavor.  If you plan to dip fresh bread in this broth while serving the crab then laddle the broth over the cooked crab after you have plated the crab in a large deep serving dish. Be prepared with extra bowls for discarded shells!
